| Abstract | ||
| This study investigates the effects of inputs on production risk of sugar beet farmers in Fars province. The study carried out in 1996. The needed data were collected by completing questionnaire from 120 farmers in Fars selected through a two-stage cluster sampling survey. The results showed that pesticide, animal fertilizer, seed and irrigation have significant effects on production changes; while labor, chemical fertilizer and machinery practices have not significant effects on production risk. Also, the results of deterministic component of production function indicated that all variables except manure have significant effects on production average of sugar beet. The amount of R2in generalized stochastic production function, random term and deterministic production function were estimated 0.86, 0.46 and 0.89, respectively. | ||
