A systematic study of the wood anatomy of some species of the Fagaceae family with an ecological interpretation | ||

| Different species of the Fagaceae family are the principal components of the broad-leaved forests in North of Iran. Because of the large size of trees and their commercial value of the wood, they are considered to be economically important for use as lumber. Despite its economic importance, a review of the systematic studies of this familyshows that, several species have been interpreted differently by various authors due to high variations in morphology and the existence of probable hybrids. The objectives of this study are to elucidate specific characteristics of the wood of the family to obtain evidence regarding taxonomical and ecological relationships among the species occurring in the area. For this purpose, 18 quantitative and qualitative characters from wood were surveyed. Cluster analysis and principal components analysis (PCA) were performed based on Euclidean distance and covariance characteristics, respectively. PCA obtained the same result of the cluster analysis. Results showed that, wood characteristics such as shape and size of vessel elements and fiber and tracheids, growth rings, wood porosity, vessel arrangement together with its grouping, solitary vessel outline, perforation plates and intervessel pits arrangements along with their shape and wood density, varied from species to species. These findings are not only useful for species identification but also showed that, differences and similarities among species are related to ecological environment and habitat conditions. | ||

| گونههای تیره راش از عناصر اصلی جنگلهای پهنبرگ شمال ایران میباشند. اندازه بزرگ و ارزش تجاری چوب درختان آن باعث شده تا از نظر اقتصادی، استفاده از الوار این گیاهان مورد توجه قرار گیرد. علیرغم اهمیت اقتصادی، بررسی اجمالی در مورد مطالعه سیستماتیک تیره نشان داده که تفاسیر متفاوتی از محققان مختلف در مورد گونههای تیره راش به علت تنوع زیاد ریختشناسی و وجود دورگههای احتمالی، وجود دارد. لذا هدف از این مطالعه، بررسی صفات خاص چوب گونههای تیره مذکور و تفسیر ارتباطات تاکسونومیکی و اکولوژیکی بین گونههای موجود در ایران است. به این منظور، تعداد 18 صفت کمی و کیفی از چوب آنها بررسی گردید و تحلیل خوشهای براساس فاصله اقلیدسی و رستهبندی مبتنی بر ساختار کواریانس صفات انجام شد. نتایج تحلیل رستهبندی با تحلیل خوشهای منطبق بود. نتایج این تحقیق نشان داد صفات تشریحی چوب مانند شکل، اندازه عناصر آوندی، فیبر، تراکئید، دوایر سالیانه رشد، تخلخل و آرایش آوندی و گروهبندی آوندها، نوع حاشیه و دهانه آوندها و آرایش پیتهای آوندی و شکل آنها و همچنین تراکم چوب از گونهای به گونه دیگر متفاوت بود. این یافتهها ضمن قابل استفاده بودن برای شناسایی گونهها، نشان داد تفاوت و یا شباهتهای بین گونهها به محیط اکولوژیکی و شرایط رویشگاه آنها بستگی دارد. | ||
