| Abstract | ||
| This study was a conducted to determine dispersal as well as hosts of species of Loranthceae family occurring in Zandjan province. Major natural forest stands and plantations of Zandjan province are located in Tarum area. According to the results obtained the dwarf mistletoe (Arceuthobium oxycedri) is dispersed in north and northeastern part of Tarum on junipers (Juniperus excelsa) and this is the most important cause for juniper dieback in these areas. The mistletoe, Viscum album is widely seen in all parts of Tarum area as well. Its hosts include hawthorn (Crataegus spp.), mountain ash (Sorbus graeca), plum (Prunus sp.), apple (Malus orientalis) and Persian walnut (Juglans regia). It’s a new record that mistletoe was collected on the latter species in the world. The following table shows mistletoe dispersal areas and affected hosts in Zandjan province | ||
