[English]
Desertification, as one of the most critical environmental challenges of the current century, annually affects vast areas of arid and semi-arid lands worldwide. In this context, the role of beneficial soil microorganisms, particularly plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR), in enhancing the tolerance of desert plants and stabilizing shifting sands has gained increasing attention. This review article summarizes findings from studies on the role of rhizosphere bacteria of desert trees and shrubs in three key areas: water uptake, physical sand stabilization, and desertification control. The main mechanisms of these bacteria include the production of exopolysaccharides and the formation of soil aggregates, production of plant hormones, solubilization of insoluble phosphates, biological nitrogen fixation, and induction of systemic resistance in host plants. Numerous studies have also demonstrated a high diversity of microbial communities in the rhizosphere of sand-fixing plants, which play a crucial role in nutrient cycling and improving the physicochemical properties of sandy soils. Finally, practical applications of this knowledge in the form of microbial inoculants and biological soil crust technology are discussed, and future research perspectives are outlined.
