| چکیده | ||

| چکیده [English] | ||
| Sugar beet is sensitive to weed competition, and it is essential to control weeds between and within rows with minimal use of herbicides. With the aim of reducing herbicide use and controlling weeds, a combined band sprayer-cultivator machine was developed and compared with the conventional broadcast method in weed control. The experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with four treatments and four replications. Band sprayer-sweep cultivator (T1), band sprayer-crescent cultivator (T2), broadcast spraying + sweep cultivator (T3) and broadcast spraying + crescent cultivator (T4) were considered as experimental treatments. Parameters included nozzle flow, width of the herbicide band on the ridge, reduction in herbicide consumption, weed control index, depth of cut soil and percent of soiling of plant, effective field capacity and quantitative and qualitative yield of sugar beet crop were measured and investigated. The results indicated a direct, non-linear relationship between the width of the spray band formed on the ridge and the nozzle height. The band sprayer sweep-cultivator (T1) achieved the highest levels of weed control and soiling of plant at 86.47% and 68.30%, respectively. Weed control and soiling of plant values were 80.37% and -5.3% for treatment T2; 68.45% and 48.3% for treatment T3; and 54.47% and -12.6% for treatment T4. Herbicide consumption was reduced by 60% with band spraying compared to broadcast spraying. White sugar yields for treatments T1 and T2 were 10.87 and 11.29 t/ha, respectively (p<0.05). For treatments T3 and T4, these values were 8.58 and 8.19 t/ha, respectively (p>0.05). Based on the research findings, the band sprayer sweep-cultivator treatment (T1) outperformed the other treatments regarding the measured parameters. | ||
