چکیده
Introduction: Recent research has clarified the historically complex taxonomy of the medically significant scorpion genus Androctonus in Iran, chiefly by resolving the A. crassicauda Olivier, 1807 species complex and describing numerous new species. However, the taxonomic status of certain populations in Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) has remained unsettled.
Materials & Methods: The new scorpion species, Androctonus nazarii sp. nov., was collected from Baghmalek in the Zagros Mountains of Khuzestan Province, Iran. The species description is based on two male specimens, which were characterized by a set of distinct morphological features.
Results: The species exhibits distinctive diagnostic characteristics, including a brownish-yellow coloration, a light brown carapace devoid of ocular black patches and featuring fine granulation, uniformly yellow legs, and a specific yellowish-brown, finely granulated chela manus. A detailed comparison with its closest relatives (A. crassicauda, A. zagrosensis, A. sumericus, and A. barahoeii) confirms its distinctiveness. 
Conclusion: Its discovery fills an important taxonomic gap in south-western Iran and carries significant implications for public health and conservation

تحقیقات اخیر، آرایه‌شناسی پیچیدهٔ تاریخی «کژدم سردهٔ اندروکتونوس» که از نظر پزشکی اهمیت دارد را در ایران روشن ساخته است. این پیشرفت عمدتاً از طریق حل و فصل مجموعه‌گونه‌های «A. crassicauda Olivier» و توصیف گونه‌های جدید متعدد حاصل شده است. با این حال، علیرغم این پیشرفت، طبقه‌بندی جمعیت‌های خاصی در استان خوزستان در جنوب‌غربی ایران همچنان نامشخص باقی مانده بود.
در اینجا، ما یک گونهٔ جدید با نام Androctonus nazarii sp. nov. را از منطقهٔ باغ‌ملک در کوه‌های زاگرس استان خوزستان ایران توصیف می‌کنیم. این گونهٔ جدید کژدم بر اساس مجموعه‌ای از ویژگی‌های ریخت‌شناسی متمایز، از نمونه‌های نر توصیف شده است. از جمله ویژگی‌های تشخیصی کلیدی آن می‌توان به رنگ قهوه‌ای-زرد، سپر سر (کاراپاس) به رنگ قهوه‌ای روشن بدون لکه‌های سیاه چشمی و دارای دانگ‌های ریز، پاهای یکدست زرد، و بخش دستی (منوس) چنگال‌های (چلا) زرد-قهوه‌های با دانگ‌های ریز اشاره کرد.
این گونه از طریق مقایسه‌ای دقیق با نزدیک‌ترین خویشاوندان خود (شامل A. crassicauda، A. zagrosensis، A. sumericus و A. barahoeii) متمایز شده است. کشف این گونه از این جهت حائز اهمیت است که یک شکاف آرایه‌شناسی در جنوب‌غرب ایران را حل می‌کند و پیامدهای مهمی برای بهداشت عمومی و حفاظت از محیط زیست دارد.
گونه جدید از نظر رنگ‌آمیزی کلی بیشترین شباهت را بهA. sistanus دارد، اما می‌توان آن را با فقدان لکه‌های سیاه روی کاراپاس و متازوم و تلسون یکنواخت زرد-قهوه‌ای از آن جدا کرد که در تضاد با بندهای چهارم و پنجم متازوم و تلسون سیاه در A. sistanus است.
ترکیبی از ویژگی‌های رنگ‌آمیزی (کاراپاس، متازوم و دستک پنجه یکنواخت قهوه‌ای-زرد)، دانه‌بندی (کاراپاس و سطح داخلی دستک پنجه به صورت متراکم و ریزدانه، سطح بین کارینال ترژیت هفتم صاف) و ویژگی‌های ریخت‌شناسی (استرنیت ششم صاف و فاقد کارینا) به طور قطعی A. nazarii sp. nov. را از تمام دیگر گونه‌های شناخته‌شده در این جنس تشخیص می‌دهد.
این اکتشاف، تنوع تاکسونومیکی مستمر درون جنس Androctonus را برجسته می‌سازد و بر اهمیت تحلیل ریخت‌شناسی دقیق برای تشخیص گونه‌ها تأکید می‌کند.
