| Abstract | ||
| The experiments were done to investigate the effects of Ferula essential oils and probiotic on performance, immune system and intestinal morphology of broilers. 480 broilers (Ross 308) from the age of 1-42 days were evaluated in a factorial design with 8 treatments and 4 replications and 15 birds per treatment. Basal diets were supplemented with zero, 100, 150 and 200 mg/kg of Ferula essential oil and zero and 150 mg/kg of probiotic. Weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio were calculated on a weekly basis. To study the immune system, on day 7, two chicks in each pen were inoculated with 0.1 mL of SRBC (0.5%) in the pectoral muscle. To test the intestinal morphology, at the age of 42 days, 2 birds from each replicate were killed and factors such as width, height, and crypt depth were determined. The results showed that using Ferula essential oils and probiotic did not show significant differences in feed intake, body weight gain, and feed conversion ratio in starter, grower, and finisher period. The results showed combination of Ferula essential oils and probiotic at the second immune response has a significant difference. The highest antibody titer was obtained with treatment including probiotics plus 100 mg/kg Ferula essential oil. The results showed that Ferula essential oils and probiotic supplementation in this study, In this regard use of probiotic plus 100 mg/kg, Ferula essential oils can be administered. | ||
