| Abstract | ||
| The ostrich breeders could be reared in the form of flock or families including 3, 5, 8 or 10 members, while the most dominant form is a family including one male and two female called Trio. The climatic and weather condition of the region have direct effect on the breeding performance of ostrich breeders, so when selecting the place for construction breeder farm, the important factors like wind blowing and length and intensity of heat at warm months must be considered, because followed by malnutrition, feather pecking and sever decline in fertility and egg production in the warm months. It is appear that the minimum per capita area for an ostrich breeder is about 150 square meters and so the minimum area pen for a Trio ostrich breeder family is 450 square meters and the minimum proposed dimensions for the pen could be 50 × 9 or 55× 8.2 meters. The gathering of the eggs immediately after laying and storage them at suitable conditions leads to good hatchability because the ostrich eggs easily contaminated by bacteria and fungi. The ostrich eggs after gathering is better situated horizon for 24 hours till distinguish the right place of air cell. At storage place the eggs must be maintained at 15 to 20 degree of centigrade and relative humidity of 40 to 60 percent. Two factors of incubator machine and incubator technician have important role in hatchability and success of an ostrich farm, so must be considered with sensitivity and very carefully. | ||
