| Abstract | ||
| Dionysia khuzistanica Jamzad is an endemic species in Khuzestan province. Its type habitat is around Dehdez, Sarsahra region, and Karoon River basin. Dionysia khuzistanica Jamzad is present in one location with an area of about 0.5 km2. We aim to define the conservation status of this species and to understand the geographical and ecological conditions of its habitats. Based on IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), Dionysia khuzistanica Jamzad is defined as a Critically Endangered species. This species has been affected by human activities. The field observation indicated that road construction and grazing were the main threatening factors for this species. Thus, the conservation of the habitat of this valuable species as a natural genetic reserve is necessary. This species regenerates by seed and will be easily established in the area if the habitat is protected. | ||
