Abstract | ||
In order to investigation of hatchery sites in Tehran province from economic efficiency views, this project was carried out. Hatcheries located in Tehran Province (with 36 sites) with 667 setters with capacity of more than 50.6 million eggs and 599 hatchers with a capacity of more than 26.9 million eggs. Information on standards of technical, economic, health, buildings and hatchery installations were recorded and collected during three years and collected data inserted into excel software and considered parameters extracted from it and was analyzed. The hatcheries based on hatchability index, were classified into three categories; optimal, intermediate and weak and were compared. In weak group 76% and in optimal group 91% resulted in the index of hatching. Improving the production index of day old chicks in weak was with reduction in mortality and decrease in repair costs, and was significant (p<0.05). During the egg-laying of breeder, the highest percentage of hatchability was 95.5 that was related to 3 days storage time in the temperature of 10°C and the lowest percentage of hatchability was 71 in the age of 51 weeks related to 15 days storage time in the temperature of 25°C. In this study, the hatchability percentage within all groups with 3, 6,9,12 and 15 days of storage were significant (p<0.05). Fixed costs were included the investment of hatchery sites and variable costs included the The lowest of total cost per head of chicken was 3352 Rials and the highest cost 9999 Rials and the average cost was 6453 Rials. | ||
