Abstract | ||
This study was conducted to determine the effect of feed physical forms on growth performance of male lambs. One hundred-twenty Zandi male lambs (initial body weight = 36.7 ± 4.11 kg, 6-7 months of age) were randomly assigned to two treatments (60 lambs/treatment) in a completely randomized design for 84 days. Two experimental diets with same composition and formulation, were prepared in two different phisycal form of Mash (M) and Block (B), and were randomly allocated to treatments. Dry matter intake (DMI) and average daily gain (ADG) were measured and feed conversion ratio (FCR) was calculated. The results showed that DMI was higher (1802 gr) for lambs fed B diet than lambs fed with M diet (1552 gr). The lambs fed B diet had higher ADG (173 gr) than lambs fed M diet (161 gr). FCR did not affect by feed physical forms. In conclusion, feed physical form of B could increase DMI and ADG of Zandi fattening male lambs. | ||
