| Abstract | ||
| Strawberry is one of the most important greenhouse crops with high nutritional and commercial value in the worldwide. Silicon element plays a very important role in increasing the flowering, yield and tolerance of plants to adverse environmental conditions and its effects on different plants have been proved. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of silicon element on the yield and some quantitative and qualitative characteristics of strawberry fruit in the second reproductive period in a research greenhouse of Bu-Ali Sina University in Hamadan to form of factorial experiment based on a completely randomized design with three replications. Foliar spray and root feeding were carried out using 20, 40, 60 and 80 mg L-1 micro- and nano-SiO2 at two separate growth stages. The results showed that the application of silicon improved the percentage of fruit set, yield and fruit quality to the plants that did not receive this element. It was observed that root-application of silicon at a concentration of 60 mg/l had the most effective in improving the nutrition of strawberry and on that basis, use this beneficial element in the cultivation of strawberry under greenhouse conditions is recommendable. | ||
