| Abstract | ||
| The Melon Aphid, Aphis gossypii, is one of the most important sap sucking pests in greenhouses in Iran. Chemical control is one of the most important methods in its control and it is necessary to test new and safe insecticides against it, regularly. This research was conducted in a cucumber greenhouse in Jiroft, based on the randomized complete block design with 6 treatments of insecticides and 4 replications and a control treatment (water spray). Treatments were pymetrozine WG50% at 0.5/1000, NeemAzal (azadirachtin EC1%) at 2/1000, Tondexir®, an extract of garlic and chili (EC 85%) at 2/1000, Tondexir® (EC 85%) at 1.5/1000 with adjuvant Bartar® at 0.5/1000, Tondexir® (EC 85%) at 1.5/1000, Palizin®, insecticide soap at 2.5/1000 and control (water spray). The sampling was done one day before and 3, 7 and 10 days after spraying. Results showed that pymetrozine, NeemAzal and Tondexir® at 2/1000 were the best of all. So pymetrozine and NeemAzal were in first class with more than 95% efficiency on all three sampling days and Tondexir® at 2/1000 was after them in the second class. The lowest efficacies were observed in Palizin® that was less than 60% on all three sampling days. So, pymetrozine and NeemAzal are advisable to control of the Melon Aphid in the greenhouses cucumber. | ||
