| Abstract | ||
| Comparison of six sugar beet progeny lines, two breeding populations, and a semi-tolerant variety (Check) was make for root yield, sugar content, white sugar yield as well as potassium and, purity contents at two years. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with four replications which is carried out at two locations (saline and normal soil) at Saveh and Karaj, respectively. The coefficient of salinity sensitivity for root yield was obtained. Significant differences were found between the progeny lines 7233-P.55, 8001-P.148, and the breeding population 9529-II-Bulk for high root yield, sugar content and white sugar yield. The breeding population 9529-II-BULK with 26.18t/h root yield was superior than other materials. These sources would be useful for the breeding programs conducting the development of salinity tolerant varieties. | ||
