| Abstract | ||
| During the study on Syrphid flies associated with cropland and forest areas in Ilam in 2007, 21 species of two sub-families were collected. Identification was made on male genitalia. Of the collected specimens, Merodon hirtus is a new species for Iranian fauna. Sphaerophoria turkmenica and Eupeoses corolla were dominant species in two study areas. Malaise trap were use to collect Syrphid flies. specimens were collected and counted weekly. Shannon-Wiener index were applied to measure species diversity. Dalab forest area had the highest species diversity (H=1/163). | ||
