| Melon ladybeetle, Epilachna chrysomelina (F.), is one of the key insect pests of cucurbit crops in Asia and North Africa. The development and reproduction of E. chrysomelina were studied on watermelon, snake cucumber, cucumber and melon under laboratory conditions. Mean total life cycle from egg to adult female was 21.3, 21.7, 26.0, and 21.3 days on the mentioned host plants respectively. Mean immature mortality was 70.12%, 77.00%, 76.99% and 79.89% on the same four host plants. The female of E. chrysomelina oviposited means of 212.90, 377.85, 168.00 and 194.00 eggs and had a mean longevity of 28.77, 48.00, 38.55 and 28.36 days on watermelon, snake cucumber, cucumber and melon respectively. The net reproductive rate was 34.85, 48.82, 22.33 and 17.39 and daily intrinsic rate of increase was 0.095, 0.103, 0.073 and 0.077 on the respective plants. Life table statistics showed that snake cucumber was the most suitable host plant for E. chrysomelina, followed by watermelon and melon, with cucumber least suitable. | ||

| کفشدوزک خربزه، Epilachna chrysomelina (F.)، یکی از آفات کلیدی گیاهان جالیزی در آسیا و شمال آفریقا میباشد. طول دورهی رشد، تولید مثل و پارامترهای جدول زندگی این کفشدوزک روی گیاهان هندوانه، خیار چنبر، خیار و خربزه در شرایط آزمایشگاهی (دمای 30 درجهی سیلسیوس، رطوبت نسبی 60 درصد و طول دورهی روشنایی به تاریکی 14 به 10 ساعت) مطالعه شد. میانگین طول دورهی زندگی از تخم تا مرحلهی بلوغ ماده روی هندوانه، خیار چنبر، خیار و خربزه بهترتیب برابر با 3/21، 7/21، 26، 3/21 روز بود. میانگین مرگ و میر پیش از بلوغ روی چهار گیاه میزبان مذکور بهترتیب برابر با 12/70، 77، 99/76، 89/79 درصد به دست آمد. میانگین تخمگذاری E. chrysomelina ماده روی هندوانه، خیار چنبر، خیار و خربزه بهترتیب برابر با 90/212، 85/377، 168، 194 عدد تخم بود. میانگین طول عمر کفشدوزک ماده روی چهار گیاه مذکور بهترتیب برابر با 77/28، 48، 55/38 و 36/28 روز محاسبه شد. نرخ خالص تولید مثل (R0) روی گیاهان مذکور بهترتیب برابر با 85/34، 82/48، 33/22 و 39/17 و نرخ ذاتی رشد (rm) بهترتیب برابر با 095/0، 103/0، 073/0 و 077/0 بود. پارامترهای جدول زندگی نشان داد که مناسبترین میزبان گیاهی از نظر رشد و تولید مثل کفشدوزک خربزه، خیار چنبر بود و بعد از آن بهترتیب هندوانه، خربزه و خیار قرار گرفتند. | ||
